Space Paintings on Hahnemühle Series

Coinciding with the development of my paintings and paralleling their creation is this series of works based on pure appropriation of close-up sections of his own paintings.  Self-appropriating has led to the Space Paintings on Hahnemühle Series: Black and white photographs of individual sections of paintings digitally inverted by negation to render the original image new and fresh.  The picture patterns that inadvertently were generated through this process look like nebula, exploding stars, cosmic radiation, solar flares and other assorted iconic images we have all seen from the Hubble Space Telescope depicting an empirical view of our universe.  What makes these photographs unique is the fact that they are all created by painting, nothing more.  Therefore, what we have is an earthbound human creative process mirroring the natural order of nature by pure accident, or, is it there a semblance of order within that which appears chaotic?

7.5% of the proceeds of every sale will be donated to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
